Just a heads up, depending on your style of climbing. Any climbing rope will create significant amounts of friction that will cut straight through most materials like butter given enough time and pressure. I didnt realize the soles on these shoe's were this soft so I'll have to keep another pair of shoes with me for any WOD's that include rope climb's until I can adjust my fast rope technique from dragging the midsole of my shoes on the descent. It's really only been the last month that I've been adding a few rope climbs post WOD and I've had this pair maybe 3 months, if even that long.
It's not Inov8's fault, any shoe with softer exposed foam rubber on the mid sole will have this issue. Nike frees + several other minimal training shoes I've seen come to mind. Otherwise these shoes are the best all-around training shoe I've ever worn.
