Hey, we’re stoked you found us!

First off, many people ask, “CrossFit looks hard. Can I do it?” The answer is YES it it hard and YES you can do it. CrossFit is designed for everybody, beginner or otherwise. All our workouts are scaled to your ability.

CrossFit San Mateo offers private training, group classes and CrossFit Endurance programming. Please read below to determine which suits you best.

Step 1: Try our free group workouts on Saturday mornings @ 9:30am.

We’ll coach you through a skill based warmup and workout while telling you a little bit more about CrossFit, our training philosophy and what makes CrossFit San Mateo so awesome. This class is open to everyone regardless of fitness background.

CrossFit combines high intensity exercises with skilled based movements while harnessing the power of camaraderie, competition and the fun of sport. Remember how fun it was to play for a team? X that by 5 and you have CrossFit. In order to join our team, all athletes must properly learn our movements to safely join the fast paced group classes. Even if you’re Lance Armstrong fit, every athlete has a weakness and CrossFit will expose that very quickly. Learn to move properly first then increase the intensity!

*If you are an experienced CrossFitter (ie. member at another CF box) then you are welcome to jump right into our group classes. You will be tested on range of motion, proper form, etc. Please email me first for a drop-in class.

Step 2: Choose the right intro program for you.

3 Session Passport to CrossFit – Group class

If you are a healthy individual with no current injuries and are in overall good physical condition (ie. not sedentary/have a current workout regime), then our 3 session passport program should be perfect to assimilate you into our classes. This program lasts one week and is every M, W, Fr @ 5:30pm. Cost is $350/individual and includes your first month of membership. Please email me for scheduling conflicts.

6 Session Passport to CrossFit – Group class

Our six session passport program is designed for individuals who do not have a current fitness program, need special attention to an injury or who have been mostly sedentary. These classes are designed to ramp the intensity up slowly while teaching the fundamental movements. This program is M, W, Fr @ 5:30pm and begins the 3rd week of every month. Cost is $200/individual and includes your first month of membership. Please email me for scheduling conflicts.

Once you have completed our Passport to CrossFit program, you are ready to join us in our group classes. Welcome to the team!

CrossFit Endurance Program

Injured much? Burnt out? Want to PR in your event(s)? Or start your first triathlon? Our endurance program can be tailored to the beginner and professional athlete. Whether you’re new to competition or a seasoned veteran, CrossFit Endurance methodology is a departure from the norm, building upon our CrossFit group classes then adding 2-3 sport specific exercises per week. Einstein once said, “Insanity can be defined as doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results.” Does your current training program sound “insane”? I have successfully coached athletes without any running experience to their first ultra-marathon while training under 7 hours per week. Now that sounds insane! Our program will make you faster, stronger, and less prone to injury. Our program works! Please email me for scheduling and availability.

    My friend recently recommended crossfit to me and I would love to check out a workout! Do I need to bring anything to come to a Saturday session?

    • Hi Patti!

      I suggest bringing a water bottle and a towel. Our class will last one hour. Hope to see you then!
